Soft Tissue Regeneration, Inc. (“STR”) has developed and tested a breakthrough technology for soft tissue regeneration of the anterior cruciate ligament (“ACL”) of the knee. This patented and proprietary technology, using an FDA-approved polymer called polyL-lactide (PLLA), already widely used in biomedical devices, can allow STR to address a tremendous unmet need in the repair of musculoskeletal soft tissue injuries of the knee. The product is called the L-C Ligament® for ACL reconstruction. It is a synthetic scaffold that stabilizes the knee and encourages the regeneration of ligament tissue and should result in faster, better healing and greater odds of making a full recovery.
STR has developed a biodegradable scaffold to augment rotator cuff reconstruction. The device, called the Cuff Regen, has been used in several large animal studies successfully and the Company is in the process of obtaining 510K approval in the USA and CE Mark in Europe.
STR was founded based on technologies developed by Cato T. Laurencin, M.D., Ph.D.
